Do New Car Tyres Need to Be Aligned?

It is always a good idea to get new car tyres checked for alignment. It is quite easy for tyres to get out of alignment; you only have to hit a bad pothole in the road for the suspension to get bumped out of alignment. What does it mean exactly for car tyres to be out of alignment? It means that they are not quite straight - and so there will be a great deal more wear and tear on them. Having just paid a sizeable sum of money to have them fitted, you hardly want them to start wearing out unnecessarily.

How can you tell if tyres are not properly aligned? Very often the vehicle will start to shudder at certain speeds, or the steering wheel might vibrate at higher speed. If the problem is not corrected you will soon see uneven wear on the tyre treads as it means that one or more tyres are being dragged to some extent rather than running straight and true. There are other problems caused from not having your tyres properly aligned.

* Higher fuel consumption. When tyres are not running straight there is drag which means the engine must work harder to make the car go. This relates to more fuel consumption.
* The car feels as if it is wandering - the steering wheel may pull to the left or right.
* The ride will not be as smooth as one or more tyres are constantly being dragged to correct their direction.
* Handling and control will not be as efficient and can cause accidents. It can also cause driver fatigue.

When you get a wheel alignment done it is necessary to have all four tyres aligned at the same time. Only then can you be sure that they will all be travelling in the same central direction. This should be done at least once a year or every 20,000 kilometres or so. It may need to be done more often if you constantly drive on bad roads that contain lots of potholes, or if the car has been in a minor prang.

To check if your vehicle needs an alignment, choose an empty road and while driving slowly, let go of the steering wheel. If the vehicle pulls to the left or right, or if the steering wheel rotates without you touching it, you can be pretty sure that the alignment is out. At higher speeds take note if the car shudders or if the steering wheel seems to vibrate. See if it seems hard to turn a corner or do parallel parking. Such problems can often be caused by your wheels being out of alignment - or out of balance.

Having regular maintenance such as a suspension check on the vehicle often means that other problems can be picked up before they translate into something serious and more costly. And since it makes the vehicle safer, easier to drive and saves you running costs, getting it done should certainly be something that you would not think twice about.

Learn About Changing Transmission Fluid

To help your vehicle move properly, you will need to make sure that the filter is clean. To keep the filter clean the oil in the case needs to be cleaned as well. While there is a process which is used to flush out the old oil and clean it, this process does not clean out the filter. By replacing the filter and the oil in the transmission, you will remove all of the impurities and small pieces of metal that will accumulate there.

The process to do so will involve removing the pan from the bottom of the case. Some will have a drain plug that will allow you to remove some of the oil prior to remove it while others will not. If you are able to remove the oil, it is best to do so to avoid spilling it. If the oil cannot be drained, then carefully remove all of the bolts and then remove the pain.

Under the pan you will find the filter. Remove the screw that holds it in place and remove the filter. Make sure there are no particles left on the interior of the case by gently wiping away any extra oil that you find there. Use caution when doing this not to dislodge any of the parts inside the case. After the pan has been removed you will want to scrap away the old gasket so that you do not have any leaks when the filter and pan are reinstalled.

Some pan gaskets require a bit of sealant to hold them in place while you reinstall the pan. Additionally some filters will also require a gasket under them to make sure they stay in place. When using a gel sealant to hold gaskets in place, it is a good idea to make sure none of that sealant gets inside the casing. This can be pulled into the pump and cause problems with the fluid flow through the transmission.

After you have removed the pan you will also want to wash it thoroughly with a solvent to remove the oil and any particles and dirt that may be there. After it has been completely cleaned it will also be important that you have wiped it out completely and no solvent remains. Leaving any solvent in the pan can result in the breakdown of the oil faster and will result in it needing to be changed again sooner. After replacing the filter and the pan and ensuring that the bolts are secure and the gasket is in place, you will need to refill the case with fluid.

Most hold about five quarts however some may hold more. After adding five, start the vehicle, let it warm up some and then check the fluid while the vehicle is running. The level should read full. If it is below that line, increase the level by adding a half of a quart at a time. You do not want to overfill it either as this can increase the pressure in the case and result in problems. At the same time you do not want it to be low as this can starve the transmission and cause it to get too hot. After adding the oil you will need to look under the vehicle and check for leaks as well. You do not want to cause problems in the future due to a small leak in the seal.

Changing transmission fluid can be a messy job. You will need to be under the vehicle and it is a dirty place to be. In additional oil spillage and the general dirt from the bolts and screws will increase the mess. However, if you are capable of doing the work yourself you will find you can save quite a bit of money on the job. Today most find it easiest to just take their car in and have any necessary tune up or repairs done by someone else. Some do not want to get dirty doing their own work, some are not capable of doing their own work and others simply do not have the time to do the work themselves.

Optimum Services Provided by an Auto Service Center

In this article, we will throw a light on some of the miscellaneous facets of oil change that is crucial for your vehicle.

Oil is as vital to a vehicle as water is to living beings. It keeps things in a moving condition and cleansed out. If you tend to display a sign of leniency as far as the timely change of engine oil is concerned, the engine parts would compress against each other and would be damaged.

Oil change is a process that is really required for the engine to perform well and last for a long period of time. It's evident that all engines require some sort of lubricant or element that will enable enhanced movement so that they do not have friction and not generating much heat. The grease is also needed to reduce the scratching that occurs when there is no even and liquid surface.

If you purchase a brand new car, it is strongly recommended that you come back to the distributor once you have driven your vehicle in case of a certain amount of mileage has been reached or it has passed a certain span of time. It is suggested due to the fact that the distributor can perform the necessary oil change procedure on the engine and to inspect the vehicle of everything is functioning well the way it should be.

It is understood that the cost of changing the oil of your vehicle's engine is not a costly affair. However, it is crucial for you to know how regular you change the engine's oil. Oil needs to be changed for innumerable reasons. First off, the engine oil tends to break down over a period of time and it loses all its lubrication properties. When there is a break down in oil, it tends to unite with blow-by gases from filth. The oils that are high detergent melt this dirt and hold it in suspension. If you disregard the change in engine oil that needs to be done on regular intervals, it might lead to premature engine failure due to augmented wear and lead to damage.

You should keep an average interval for the purpose of oil change and that ensures the best performance of your car. Unnecessary to say, this is one of the most important tasks that need to be executed on a regular schedule as part of maintenance. When you get accustomed to get the engine oil changed on a timely basis, your vehicle will ensure you the best condition and also it would enhance its long life.

How To Find The Cause Of Noisy Automotive Brakes

Noisy brakes is a definitely a sign that the car is in need of immediate attention. The real extent of the damage on the breaks can be guessed on the nature of the noise. However, not very many people are able to do that. With the exception of professional car mechanics or someone with the same expertise, no person will be able to deduce the problem just by listening to the noise. The noise itself could be nothing serious, a matter that can be fixed in no more than a few minutes. On the flipside, if could be something totally different, let alone potentially dangerous.

Since it is hardly possible to be able to point out the damage just by listening to the noise, it is imperative to fix noisy breaks as soon as it comes to notice. Some of the causes for noisy brakes are nonthreatening, caused by small shards of metal or dusts, stuck between the brake pads. When the brake pads are used, these materials create friction with the pads, also creating the noise. If that is the case, then the problem can be resolved easily. It would only take dismantling the brake and removing the obstructing particles and reassembling it all over again. After that, the car would be running like its brakes are brand new.

On the contrary, the problem could be something serious. In some cases, the noise on the brakes is caused by broken or weakened components. After all, the brakes are also subjected to wear and tear, and should be expected to reduce in durability over time. In that case, the noise may be an indicator that one or more components are not functioning correctly, and that the damage may result to something very disastrous. If there is such damage on the brakes, the broken component will have to be adjusted or replaced.

One thing that a driver can use to decide whether or not the braking noise is a serious matter is the age of the vehicle. Similarly, the last time the brakes were replaced or fixed should be taken into consideration. Brand new cars with brand new braking systems are less likely to produce noise, and if they did, chances are that is just caused by dust particles stuck on the brake pads. However, this diagnostic is far from ideal. In fact, it is not very advisable to base the assessment of the damage in the age of the brakes or the vehicle.

A more effective way to detect whether the noise is caused by something potentially dangerous is if it is accompanied by a number of things. Sharp pulls on either side when braking, late braking, advanced braking, less than ideally powerful braking, these are all indications that the loud braking is a serious a problem that the driver must get looked at by professional mechanics as soon as possible.

Two of the most common causes of noisy braking are the substances that are used in making brake pads and dust. Dust, much like other contaminants, can get into the brake pads, the chance more likely if the car is frequently driven on the off-roads.

Once the dusts get into the brake pads, they will cause momentary noises that will soon go away. That is because the dusts have nothing to latch onto in between the brake pads. The dust particles are bound to sooner or later fall out, allowing the brake pads to be noise-free again. This, however, still degrades the quality of the brake pads.

In a matter of weeks, constant dusts on the brake pads will make it less durable and therefore less safe to drive with. One way to help prevent dusts from getting to the brake pads is by dampening the pads.

Most of today's automotive brakes are made of metallic materials, which are more durable and hard wearing. However, they may also cause noise sometimes. In conclusion, it is very crucial for the driver to pay attention to such detail when trying to figure out what is causing this problem.

The Widespread Effectiveness of the Autel DS708

There comes a time in every car's life that it has to experience the dirty word of car check-ups, the diagnostic. A diagnostics test can be costly to perform, but many times it's the only sure way to determine what is actually wrong with the vehicle. To do a diagnostics test, the car is usually hooked up to a giant machine and it figures out through a series of test what is wrong, or right, with the car.

Thankfully, in today's modern age of technology, the diagnostics tools have gone from huge computers to small handheld devices that can attach to the actual steering wheel of the car it is testing. This is where the Autel DS708 comes in. This small diagnostic scan tool has become essential in many shops that are looking to save space.

A few of the improved features of the Autel DS708 diagnostic scanner is the ability to successfully diagnose over 30 different makes of vehicle, both domestic and foreign - including Asian models as well. It makes a full sweep of all the vehicle's electronic systems. The new Autel uses new and improved Windows CE operating Systems to keep the speed of the scan at top gear at all times.

This workshop equipment comes equipped with USB ports to connect to the technology of any vehicle, and also takes advantage of built-in Wi-Fi to connect to the shop's computers without a bunch of troublesome and in the way wiring to and from the machine.

The results of a car diagnostic will often have informative charts and data that need to be seen and printed out. Thanks to the Autel DS708's 7 inch screen and 480 pixel LCD screen, the charts are readable to the technician and they can be sent via Wi-Fi to the shop's printer for immediate no-hassle printing anywhere in the shop.

Two dangers that have, until recently, existed for the technician during a diagnostic exam are that the car may overload the machine, or vice-versa, and, the diagnostic device may be damaged by the tech. In the new diagnostic scan tools, this has been thought of by incorporating an over-voltage protector. This kill switch keeps the machine and car from taking any electrical damage.

On top of this, to prevent any damage to the device through accidental drops or collisions, the new Autel is designed to be shop-tough. It has a unique ergonomic design that sports multilayered rubber protection and an extra strong housing to protect it from user damage.

One other great feature that makes the Autel DS708 a step above the old, and even some of the new, is its new memory capabilities. The new DS708 can remember the past vehicles it has already scanned to determine if any new problems have occurred since the last diagnostic.

The new diagnostic scans tools hitting the market will only become more affordable, easier to use, safer, and more accurate than ever before. Passing on the new Autel DS708 may be one of your shop's biggest mistakes.

How To Maximize The Fuel Economy Of An ATV

AppId is over the quota

Fuel economy and miles per gallon were not issues that you used to hear most people bring up when it comes to ATVs. However, in today's world of crushing oil prices and rising fuel costs, it has begun to come up more and more often. This is especially true in industries such as agriculture and ranching in which all terrain vehicles are not used for recreation; instead, they are tools of the trade, so to speak. And as such, they are evaluated as to the return they yield on the investment they require. If an ATV, or even an entire fleet of them, is burning too much gas, then it could have negative effects on a ranch or farm's bottom line profits.

Industry experts agree that, if you averaged all ATV's and UTV's, the average miles per gallon for these vehicles is 39.47 mpg. This is a very respectable number indeed, but it can still be maximized. Here are a few ways to get the most out of each tank of gas in your ATV.

Weight. Lightening the load will decrease the amount of fuel consumed in any vehicle. Racks or tools that are not being used should be removed. That ATV winch might look cool, but if you never use it, it could be costing you extra fuel.Aerodynamics. The simple physics behind helping wind flow over a vehicle applies to racecars as well as ATVs. Less drag, less power needed; thus fuel savings.Brakes. Dragging brake calipers and worn bearings make an engine work harder than it should. Another aspect of this is a worn clutch or improper shifting.Air Pressure. Running uneven tire pressure can lower fuel efficiency by 15%Wide-Open. One of the simplest ways to increase your is backing off the throttle and riding less aggressively.Additives. ATV's, carbureted or fuel injected, benefit from the occasional use of a fuel additive designed to clean injectors/carbs. The stuff commonly found on shelves is designed to be added to 20 gallon tanks or bigger. A capful every half-dozen or so fill-ups is all you need.Tune-Up. Every engine needs to be tuned up from time to time to improve its performance. ATVs are no different from cars in this respect.

In a lot of ways you can look at your ATV just like you would your car if you want to improve fuel efficiency. Using these simple tips, you could push your ATV's fuel economy well over the 40 mpg mark.

What Can Be Done About Problematic Automotive Brakes

Noisy brakes tell you that your brake pads need fixing. It's difficult to determine whether or not your car really needs to be dismantled to fix it, though. Take note that the extent of the damage can't be guessed by simply studying the nature of the noise. In all likelihood, you will not have the necessary expertise to deduce a real damage just by listening to cars. Do not be mistaken, though, as that is very possible for people who have expertise in the field of automotive. The noise can be caused either by something potentially dangerous to you, as a driver, or by something that is just a matter of inconvenience.

Suffice to say, an average driver will not have the necessary skills to figure out what the damage is just by the screeching sound the braking makes; that is, if it is really the brake pad that is causing the problem. In a lot of cases, the noise your vehicles brake pads make are nonthreatening, which means it could be simple dust or metal that somehow got stuck on the pads. It is easy to fix. In fact, you can leave it be and it will go away, after a time. Or, if you really cannot take the squealing, you can always disassemble the brakes and clean the pads, then put it back again.

If the problem is serious, leaving the noise alone is out of the question. There are cases when the noise is caused by breakage or weakening of the components. After all, brakes are subject to constant wear and tear, and will reduce in quality after a time. If there really is a problem that needs fixing in the brakes, the noise is a clear call for help, meant to get your attention. Otherwise it can be very disastrous for you, as well as your passengers.

There are methods you can use to make your assumption if only a little bit more accurate. One way is to consider the age of the vehicle. It is common sense that older vehicles will be less durable than brand new ones. In perspective, brand new vehicles will have new brake systems installed and haven't been subjected to damage as of yet. The downside is that trying to do this method is dangerous, especially for second-hand cars that are advertised to be newer than they really are.

If the first method is not reliable, another way to detect the cause of the noise is to consider what sorts of things accompany it. For example, delayed or advanced braking can be a sign that the brake pads are not functioning very well, and that the noise is an indicator of a foreboding disaster. Sharp pulls when turning left or right or cutting tight corners might also be a signal. If it is, the car needs to be looked at by someone working at the auto shop as soon as possible.

There are two very common causes for noisy brake pads: dust and substances. The brake pads are made of different substances or materials, which can cause noise when ground together. Dust basically sticks to the brake pads and make them rougher than necessary. When you hit the brakes, those dust particles create annoying squeal-like noises.

After the dust settles into the pads, they will create noise for a time. Fortunately, they go away on their own, which means you do not really have to do anything to remove them. The dust particles have nothing with which to attach permanently.

It will take only weeks before such constant minimal damage add up to something great. To avoid this, you can try dampening the pads frequently, or bring your car to the shop to have the mechanics do something to reduce dust entry points.

In summary, it is very important to know what is causing the noise in your automotive brakes systems. It can be no more than an inconvenience, but sometimes it can be serious, too. If you wish to buy brand new brake pads, consider looking on the internet to find the best possible prices from online auto part dealers.

Home Garage Car Lifts

We all know that car shops and professional mechanics have top of the line car lifting equipment. Along with this knowledge comes the fact that we cannot have these large devices in our own garages, due to their size and cost. So, what are the choices for the home gear head who needs to lift a car, and where can you get the equipment needed to lift your own car?

The Proper Car Lifting Equipment
There are several different methods that can be used to lift or elevate your car enough so that you can work on its undercarriage. The prices for these different types of car lifting tools and equipment vary depending on quality, name brand, and weight capacity.

Ramps for Lifting
The first type we'll speak of are ramps. Car ramps can be used to elevate the front end or back end of a vehicle. One ramp goes to each tire and they lift the car about 6" to 18" off the ground. They are reliable supports because the tires rest on them, making a slip or accident almost impossible.

Longer and more sturdy car ramps can be used for motorcycles and ATV's, and even full sized cars can be lifted up and onto flat beds where they can be transported without burning gas or adding mileage. The price for most car ramps range from $30 a set to $300 a set, depending on the size and strength you need.

Jacks and Stands
Car jacks and stands come in many different types and sizes for the home garage. The rolling floor jack is one of the most popular lifting tools in most home workshops. Most of the roll under typed of jack will lift cars that are 2-4 tons, depending on the rating of the jack. The advantage of using a stand as well as the jack is that once the car is lifted high enough, a car stand can be slid in place and cranked up to support the vehicle. This is excellent for rotating tires, or changing your car's fluids.

Where to get Home Car Lift
Most of the available car ramps, stands, or jacks, are available at countless big box stores, such as WalMart's Car Center, and especially at your local hardware store. The prices for ramps can be around the same price for a 2 ton jack; about $30-$40 USD. They're not expensive, they're effective, and you can keep them in small spaces in your shed or garage.

Prominent Parts of Automobile Exhaust System

Exhaust system is one of the prominent components of a vehicle that plays an increasingly important role of taking away the hazardous fumes from the engine. It is very important to keep it in a good working condition always. In case the system has encountered some minor problem, you need to get it detected and fixed immediately otherwise it becomes major and sometimes goes beyond repair.

Exhaust system comprises of many important parts. Some of the major ones have been listed below in detail. These include:

• Manifold is an important part of the system that is majorly composed of cast iron and is build up over the engine cylinder head. Engine produces hot gases from every cylinder to power the vehicle. These hot gases move into the manifold whenever the valves of exhaust system open. In other words, exhaust manifolds are usually simple cast iron or stainless steel units that perform the role of collecting engine exhaust from numerous cylinders and distribute it to the exhaust pipe.

• The second major component is catalytic converter. It plays a vital role of keeping the environment clean by reducing harmful combustion engine contaminants. It converts the exhaust emissions from the internal combustion engine into harmless substances. A catalyst is present inside a catalytic convertor that stimulates a chemical reaction in which harmful derivatives of combustion go through a chemical reaction. The type of chemical reaction depends on the type of catalyst installed.

• Downpipe carries out the task of taking away the gases and vapors from the manifold to a different component present in the system.

• Lambda sensor plays the role of measuring oxygen content of the gases. Once the content is measured, it informs the engine control unit regarding it.

• There is also a turbocharger to increase the engine power.

These are some of the prominent components of the exhaust system that are together responsible for its proper functioning. A trouble in any of these important parts needs to be repaired soon. There are many auto service centers that provide customers with quality and reliable exhaust system repair services. You can choose a particular and reliable one that suits your budget and requirements properly.

A reliable service centre makes use of advanced and high quality equipment to provide customers with the best possible results. Internet is the best medium to choose a reliable service centre. There are many websites that provide customers with a list of centers. They can choose one as per your needs and budget.

Speedy Brake Centers is an auto service center located in the Vancouver region of British Columbia. It provides auto repair services such as oil change in Vancouver, muffler repair etc.

Winching and Four Wheel Driving

AppId is over the quota

If you have done much four wheel driving before, there is a good chance that you would have found yourself stuck at one stage or another. How you got out of that situation would have varied depending on how stuck you were, the people that you had with you, the recovery equipment that was available and the knowledge that you had of how to get out. By having a winch on your four wheel drive you have the best insurance for when you get stuck. It doesn't matter where or how you are stuck, a winch will be able to get you out if you know how to use it correctly. Of course, if you need to drive the opposite way to where your winch is mounted things can be a bit difficult, but you can work something else out without using the winch. Some people actually mount winches on both ends of their vehicles, for this very purpose!

Of course, you need to have one that is rated for pulling your four wheel drive through the mud up a steep incline, fully loaded and towing (if that is what you do). As long as you have that, and you know how to use a winch you should have no issues at all. I find that using a snatch strap is usually an easier option, but there are a number of times where I have used a winch instead, because it's safer and you have a bit of extra control.

Winching when you get stuck is a great way to get out, but it's also a very easy way to cause damage to yourself, or to a vehicle. There is a lot of force on a winch, and it wouldn't be the first time that something breaks when a recovery is taking place. Ensure that you have a dampening bag over the cable, and that you are winching in a safe way. No one should be standing within 20 metres, except the winch operator (who should hide behind the door of the vehicle!)

If I can offer any advice, it would be to take your time when deciding on how to recover a four wheel drive. By standing around for 5 minutes and looking at the situation, you will come up with several different ways to recover the four wheel drive, and you should be able to do it without any damage to people or vehicles.

If you want the safest, quickest and easiest vehicle recovery device, have a look at Maxtrax. Of course, no one should go four wheel driving without a Snatch Strap

Auto Body Restoration - Four Dent Repair Tips

One of the most important problems to look for when selecting an older car for restoration is rust, which if extensive enough can cause any experienced restorer to reject a car for this type of project. However, rust isn't the only form of damage that can be an issue with a collectable car. Older cars that have seen a lot of use can almost be expected to have small dents, and in some cases serious dents which were the result of a collision that may have occurred sometime during the cars past history.

If you've decided to restore a collectable car yourself, an important part of auto body restoration which you'll have to familiarize yourself with is dent repair. The good news is that this type of work isn't really complicated. On the other hand, it does require a great deal of patience, rather than the need for specialized skills. The best way to acquire the skills necessary for doing dent work is to learn by doing.

Here are four important tips which will be of value when doing dent repair and they are as follows:

Tip 1. The first step in the dent repair process involves straightening dents, and this requires finding a way to get to the back side of the existing dent. There are four areas on a car which require finding this type of access and they include the fenders, door panels, hood, and the roof. In order to straighten any type of dent, it is always necessary to work from the outer edges of the affected surface, and always pound against a dolly. While doing this type of work, it is highly recommended that you regularly run the palm of your hand over the surface you are working on to feel for smoothness.

Tip 2. The next stage of the dent repair process involves filling in minor surface abnormalities. If you're not a highly skilled body repairman, the use of some type of filler is recommended unless you posses the skills necessary to smooth dents without using a product of this type. The important thing to be aware of when using a filler is to avoid applying it in excessive amounts. The objective here is to use it sparingly, and only to fill minor surface irregularities which may be present along any existing welding seams.

It is especially important that all of the paint and the primer are completely removed from the surface area where dent repair is required. If this isn't done the filler will not adhere or stick to the surface.

Tip 3. Some hobbyist may consider using solder to fill irregularities, and where this may look easy to do, there are a few things that a novice restorer should know, and there are also precautions which must be exercised to insure successful results.

Firstly, lead is toxic and therefore it is important to wear a respirator when working with this material, and the hobbyist should make sure that the work area is properly ventilated. It is also important to use hand tools when working with lead rather than power tools. Power tools create an excessive amount of toxic dust. The procedure for preparing a surface for dent repair with lead is identical to the method used for plastic filler. However, in order for the lead to stick or adhere to the surface flux must first be applied.

Tip 4. The primary tool used to shape solder is a vixen file and when using this tool the restorer should work from the outer edges, and to the center of the area which they are repairing. Again, as with plastic filler, using only an amount of solder which is absolutely necessary is a must. When using solder the final result is produced by sanding. Before trying this process it may be a good idea to watch a video presentation first and this type of video can be found at You Tube.

The tips which were previously presented should allow any do-it-yourself auto restorer to tackle a dent repair project successfully.

A Few Tips on How to Not Have Any Major Car Repair Expenses

There are many things that a smart and conscientious car owner can do to cut down on their repair expenses. First, if you purchase a new car, a warranty comes with it, which will usually last for 3 years and a certain number of miles. You should read your warranty very carefully, because there are certain maintenance procedures that must be performed on your car to keep it in good standing.

In other words, you have to get the oil changed after driving it 3,000 miles, you have to get the car lubricated, and in certain instances you will be required to have a tune-up after x number of miles. Some of these warranties even stipulate that a new car dealer must perform all of the work for it to remain valid.

So, please make sure that you read and fully understand your new car warranty. Many more than one person has had their engine fail and taken it to the dealer to be fixed, only to find out that they somehow invalidated their warranty. They were then forced to pay the huge expense of replacing their engine on the own.

Second, you need to be aware of how your car is driving, and to pay special attention to your cars warning lights. Those little, and sometimes irritating lights are there for a reason, and it is not to annoy you. If the warning light comes on that says that you are low on oil, you need to pull over as soon as possible and check your oil.

Next, if the warning light says your car is running hot, this is very serious and you should pull over and turn off the engine at the closest safe place you can locate to stop. After that, you should pop open your hood, and check if it seems very hot to you.

If it does, you should let it cool down completely before you attempt to drive it a short distances to a repair shop. Even better than that, you should call a tow truck and have them take it to the shop for you. Driving your car when your engine is overheating, can cause the engine to crack, which will mean a very expensive repair bill before you can use it again.

Third, all cars are supposed to have their oil changed after a certain number of miles, so do it. Fourth, there also are all kinds of other regular maintenance that should be done to keep it running for as long as possible. So please do not attempt to save a little money and not have these done when they are required.

If you follow all of the common car sense recommendations that were mentioned above, there is a very good chance that you can avoid any very expensive repair bills. After all, a car is a mechanical item that requires being cared for if you want it to operate as efficiently and effectively for as long as possible.
